With a smile, a laugh, a good word, we provide cheer, joy, comfort to hospital patients.
FISAT volunteers, some dressed as clowns, go bed-to-bed interacting with patients and their care takers. They do magic tricks and balloon sculptures to bring a smile on each patient's face. Each receives the gift of a balloon and a motivational publication.
Time to Be Happy School: We did 2 activities this month, in each the children had a good time, and a wonderful chance to practice English with fun songs and games.
Merry Heart Medicine (Hospital Visitation): We were invited to go to the hospital on a Saturday afternoon and many students from the DOZO club came along. One team had a guitar and one team had a portable music player with good speakers. Each team went from room to room singing Christmas carols. One team also spent time in the play area in the children’s ward and performed magic tricks for those there. Both teams also brought cheers to the sweet nurses who diligently care for the young patients, and each nurse got a balloon!
In this Christmas season, MHM was in demand! We received many phone calls and messages asking for our participation in numerous performances.
